I grew up a farm kid in southern Minnesota. I graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a BA in Music and English. After college, I traveled and worked, but found I wanted to follow an interest in medicine, so I went back to school to become an RN. After many years as a nurse—in many different states, I realized I wanted to learn more about homeopathy and complementary medicine. I loved being a nurse, but I felt the medical world needed more people who could understand conventional medicine and alternative medicine. I followed my heart and left nursing to study naturopathic medicine in Portland, Oregon, at National College of Naturopathic Medicine.
I created my business Good Sense Healthcare to provide a service for all people who are wanting to improve their health, wellness, and practice preventative medicine. I also created a series of classes that covers menopause and how it affects every organ system. I call it Project Menopause and it is designed to give support to women who are frustrated, worried, or just irritated with the symptoms and changes menopause can create. As a healthcare practitioner, my objective is to support my patients in achieving their goals and attaining the most optimal health possible.
When I’m not seeing patients, I’m a friend, mother, wife, sister, and daughter. I enjoy watching baseball, spending time outdoors, going to the movies, and potluck dinners with friends and family. Life is good.
