My journey to naturopathic medicine began in 2005, after suffering from chronic symptoms that began in my early teens. I stumbled upon the term “naturopathic doctor” in a book I was given. I knew then, that was the answer to my health problems. The treatment plan given to me after my first visit was not necessarily easy to follow, but the changes I saw over the next few months were amazing. After all of the therapies given to me by my primary care MD and other specialists over the years, I had finally figured out the actual cause of all of my symptoms, and I learned how to manage those symptoms without prescription medications or being told it’s something I’ll just have to live with.
After some soul-searching, I decided that I didn’t want to just experience naturopathic medicine myself. I wanted to be a part of helping others achieve a level of wellness that many have come to believe they will never obtain. In 2009, after working in biochemical and neuroscience research at both the University of Houston and Florida State University, I entered the naturopathic doctorate program at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. I graduated in 2014 and currently hold a license in Washington state. I am also a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
