Lynne C Hinkle, ND, PA-C, MSOM, MS, became interested in holistic medicine in the early 90’s. While working for a medical manufacturer, she would dig through medical journals seeking the root causes for cancer, heart disease and other seemingly “incurable” chronic ailments. In her reading, she was moved by a core tenet of Naturopathic Medicine: “Treat the cause of the disease, not the symptoms,” and this has driven her practice ever since.

As a Naturopathic Doctor and PA, Dr. Hinkle is trained in the full spectrum of medicine from holistic family medicine to general primary care. She believes in the body’s inherent wisdom and its capacity to heal, and provides practices that enhance these capacities.  For example, Lynne regularly assists patients in both strengthening their immune systems and reducing harmful environmental exposures that can degrade health.  Lynne believes it’s critical to treat the “whole person.”  At the same time, she honors the patient’s immediate concerns and encourages their participation in the decision making of their personal healing plans and treatments.

Dr. Hinkle treats all types of illnesses and can work with you on your health goals. She does however have some areas of particular expertise. These include the treatment of immune system conditions such as allergies and autoimmune disorders; skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, hives and acne; anti-aging therapies; thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto’s and general hypothyroidism; general digestive disorders including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disorder, heartburn, food sensitivity and intolerances; and general fatigue syndromes. Finally, Dr. Hinkle has expertise working with foods and nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, lifestyle modifications, helping families “green” their homes and environments, wellness plans, and just instilling simple, healthy practices, all as a means to restore energy, health and vitality.

Dr. Hinkle graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine, Portland, OR in 2004 with a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She practiced holistic family medicine and acupuncture at the George Washington University Center for Integrative Medicine in Washington, DC for seven years, where she treated chronic health issues in children through geriatrics. In an effort to make holistic medicine more accessible to all families, in 2013, Dr. Hinkle completed a Physician Assistant (PA) masters degree from Samuel Merritt University, Oakland, CA. She then practiced family medicine for a year at West County Community Clinic, Sebastopol, CA., before working for five years at the award-winning Pediatric Alternatives clinic in Mill Valley, CA. Here Dr. Hinkle treated both adults and children, practicing a full scope of medicine from holistic to conventional. Recently, Dr. Hinkle and her family moved back east to be closer to family. She is thrilled to join Northampton Integrative Medicine and to work in partnership with such a talented staff.
